YU Arevim is now free!
Arevim is available for free for all YU students, as of January 2013. We thank our donors for making this possible.
Signing up is easy here.
The Fine Print:
Our sponsors want to ensure that their money isn't wasted, so placed a few conditions on the donation.
• Usage: Members should have the software installed and running. We work with our software provider, Covenant Eyes, to inform us when a user had not recorded any activity for three weeks. These users are not eligible for the free service; our sponsors don’t want to pay for unused accounts.
• Buddies: Members should have buddies receiving reports of their Internet usage. Again, our software provider informs us when users lack a buddy; our sponsors don’t want to pay for unmonitored accounts. Additionally, our donations don’t cover the filter option (see http://yuarevim.weebly.com/options.html).
• YU Students: You will be requested to confirm your status as a YU student with a yu.edu address. Details will follow when you sign up. If you want to sign up anonymously, this will be difficult, so you will probably not be eligible for the free program, unless you are willing to provide a yu.edu email address at the time of registration.
If you don’t meet these conditions, you’re still welcome to sign up, but you’re going to have to pay $2 per month for the program. (This is the rate that Arevim pays for Covenant Eyes; Arevim makes no profit.)
Again, please sign up at http://yuarevim.weebly.com/signup.html. Donations are welcome too; see http://yuarevim.weebly.com/donate.html for details.
